Villa Montalvo Engagement Session | Morgan & Ryan
Montalvo Arts Center has been on my list for a while now and I was so excited when we finally locked it in for this session. One thing about this location though, weekends are either packed with people or completely closed off for a private event, usually a wedding, so we went with a Tuesday and honestly it was the right call. Having the flexibility to just move through the property at our own pace made such a difference.
Morgan and Ryan and I had been going back and forth over email for a while before this, so it was genuinely nice to finally meet them in person. You know that feeling when someone is exactly who you expected them to be? That was this. They are so sweet and loving together, and both of them brought this bubbly energy and good humor that made the whole session feel easy and fun. They wanted me to lead the way throughout the session and guide them around the property, which I loved. It gave us a chance to discover the space together and let the photographs happen naturally as we moved through it.
Between their careers and just the pace of everyday life, things stay pretty busy for Morgan and Ryan, so getting to step away from all of that for a few hours felt like a little gift. You could feel it in the way they relaxed into the session as the time went on. Speaking of time, we were supposed to wrap up after an hour, but the photographs were turning out so well that we just kept going. Two hours later we finally called it, and I have zero regrets.
My personal favorite frames from the day are the ones we got at the entrance gate. Something about that spot just worked perfectly.
